Just a Few Photos

  1. Great pictures! I have a wonderful principal so trying to talk to Evil Boss Jeremy was hard. I certainly learned how to handle myself, ask Why? and put it back on the principal.

Len Downie, Jr. was amazing. I've seen the movie before but it makes a huge difference to have someone there who lived it talking to you about it, it makes it really come alive. I wish I could have him out to talk to my classes but I doubt he does high schools.

  2. When I did he role of principal with Lynsie I realized how concerned the principal would be, being responsible for security on campus, know that a lot of students will be provoked by an opinion piece and not be willing or able to channel their reaction into a letter to the editor. I could understand why a principal might put security concerns above one student's right to speak his mind. We will be more effective preserving that right if we understand the principal's concern.-

  3. All Leonard Downie Jr. needs in that picture is a cape. With that pose, he looks like a super hero. The thing that I like the best about him, though, is that his manner is so genuine. I am definitely a fan now. (Ashamed to admit that I didn't know who he was prior to this institute.)

  4. Why didn't we get their "interview" on film? I'm kicking myself...

  5. The talk with the principal activity was difficult because I really needed more time to think about the situation and how I wanted to address it. I guess it was a good activity that helps you think on the spot.
