Tracy Collins was amazing this morning. Very helpful tips on how to redesign our newspapers. My students try every year to get a little better and I think we're leaning in that direction. We want to make the paper look professional and yet make it something the students will want to read as well. I know that we need to do more packaging and hopefully that will make it more readable.
I was curious, however, as to why all the submitted pages weren't a part of the critique. Does that mean the ones not used were so bad that he didn't want to insult us, or that they just didn't fit in any of his examples? Some were used several times so I was just wondering. I really would have liked to have the feedback on what my students are doing. I guess I will try to take the 20 rules he gave us and see how they apply to our paper. I will definitely share with my students and see what they think.
Very good session!

I think that he just did not get to use all the papers. I would take it as a good thing. I can not count how many late night I have had trying to make the paper make sense. Maybe the 20 rules will hep relieve that stress.
