For myself, Janet, Cindy, Karla, and Traci, our adventure started at 10:00 a.m. Saturday morning while we set off to Scottsdale to go shopping!
We walked to the light rail stop, and one-by-one figured out how to pay for our ticket. However, only two of us were able to get a ticket by the time the train came by, leaving us with 20 extra minutes to wait until the next one came by.
Sitting in the hot sun, on some very uncomfortable seats, our stomachs seemed to have a mind of its own and became hungrier by the second.
What should have been a 45 minute train/bus ride turned into a two hour ride to Scottsdale. It seemed as though we were always missing our transportation. Cindy even made friends with an interesting looking man on the bus that made $10,000 a month and lived at a halfway house. He said we could Google his name, but we forgot it.
Finally, at almost noon, we made it to Scottsdale. At one point, I believe Traci said her "stomach was munching on itself."
Quickly, we went to eat at Grand Lux. I think all of us devoured the bread as if we had never eaten.
The meals were fabulous, from a mushroom burger, to BLT's, chicken salad, to my enormous fried chicken plate.
We were nourished, we were ready to shop.
As we all went off our separate ways, Janet and I stuck together. I had already decided which shops I wanted to go to by going onto their websites prior to heading to Scottsdale.
We were like machines going through the mall, it was fantastic.
Then, our adventure back to Phoenix began. After over an hour and a half of waiting for a taxi, we finally got back to Phoenix.
Traci, Karla, and Cindy were dropped off at the hotel, while Janet and I went to the Diamondbacks game. We were lucky enough to meet Steve there.
My friend, John Danks, from high school was pitching for the White Soxs. While waiting in line, Steve graciously gave Janet and I a bottle of water, which we both gulped down as if we had never tasted water before. It was delicious.
We finally made it inside the game, with our $11 tickets (I have never been to Yankee Stadium and only paid $11 for a ticket).
It was awesome to see a guy that I've known since he was a teen pitching for a MLB team. In the middle of the game, he took a line drive to his head. It was so scary. Luckily, he is alright and did go to the hospital after the game for a CT Scan.

However, it was a great weekend and luckily I have gotten everything done. I hope each of you had a fantastic weekend as well.
