Aaron Manfull takes the fear out of developing a Web page

My students have been pleading with me over the past two years to step up our Web page. We use my.hsj.org to post the newspaper online and I am happy with it.
One concern was that a new Web page format would require additional time that we just don't have. I also worried about the content. If we were going to take that leap, then we needed to update on a regular basis. I was also concerned about redundancy. There would be no point in publishing all the same stories online that ran in the print edition.
Expense was the biggest concern. I had no idea what it would cost to develop and maintain a quality Web page.Today, Aaron Manfull addressed many of those issues. I was surprised to learn that we could maintain our own page for about $70 a year. He also showed some practical suggestions for keeping the page current. After Aaron's presentation, I feel more confident in tackling a new Web page. I know my students will be excited.

  1. You and I learned many of the same lessons, Thomas! Except my students have never asked me about getting our newspaper online. Won't they be surprised when I'm the first person to bring it up!
