The opportunities and challenges of Meporter, a new citizen journalism mobile app Poynter.

The reliability and accountability of this new app concerns me. Journalists follow a code of ethics that few regular citizens do. While this app does offer tracking abilitites so you can check where the report really came from, I would still be worried about getting both sides of the story and covering both sides fairly. It is interesting though to see how phones and apps can play into reporting.
