I have always considered people that experience heat exhaustion to be negligent of such a simple task; drink water! However, it quickly became obvious to me that heat exhaustion is something that is a very silent and dangerous enemy.
We talked to a various people that had to wait for some type of transportation for sometimes up to thirty minutes. The resounding answer across the board on dealing with the heat was to keep well hydrated.
Isn't it ironic that as I am listening to people warn about dehydration that I am not hydrating. This leads me into another point. Are creative minds more likely to take risks? Do we become so consumed with what we are doing that we forget to take safety measures first?
The answer, for me at least, is yes. I have tripped down stairs while taping, been pegged by soccer balls while taking photos, and completely lost track of time. I forget my lens is not a force field between me and the world.
