Hello from Georgia

Greetings one and all! My name is John Bradford, and I live in Canton, GA, about 30 miles north of Atlanta. I currently teach four sections of English and and one section of Newspaper. Next year I will be working a hybrid schedule teaching three Special Ed English classes and two Regular Ed. Luckily, one of those classes will be Journalism. I have certification in both English and Special Ed, and the principal was able to work out this hybrid schdule to minimize cutbacks.

We have only had Newspaper for two years (we're a new school), and I am trying to rev up the program. While we printed three papers last year, the students in our school were not too interested in them which was a crushing blow to the staff. We also have an online paper, but we need to do more. I am very eager to discover what everyone else is doing. I actually graduated in Journalism from the University of Florida during the BCE era (Before Computers Existed), but my profession took me elsewhere. Needless to say many aspects have changed since I was in it though, fundamentally, much of it appears to be the same.

It looks like we're in for a interesting, albeit challenging, two weeks. I am anxious to get started and can't wait to meet everyone. It promises to be a lot of fun!
