Getting and staying online

Aaron Manfull's presentation was one that I was really looking forward to and I was not disappointed.  While he hopped around from topic to topic,  Aaron made many really great suggestions and provided tons of resources.  While I currently use my.hsj.org, I am hoping to design our own website so that we have more flexibility.  Ironically, I emailed a teacher back home to see if some of the sites Aaron mentioned are accessible to us, and so far godaddy.com is, (go figure) and weebly and scholasticpress.com are not (funny that they are both designed with educators in mind).  So now I am left with a ton of great resources, websites, information that I may not be able to access because of our content filter and this is frustrating.  I welcome the challenge of trying to convince our tech office that sites like these are valuable and they will allow the students to do some real-world application of journalism skills we are studying.

  1. I got a lot out of it as well, especially his suggestion of assigning evergreen projects to the Web staff.
