How much can the mind hold?

I knew that the two weeks would be very challenging but I sometimes feel a little overwhelmed by the amount of information being poured into us.  Thank goodness for fellow teachers who are helping me thread my way through the instructions and with doing the computer work.  I really have needed your assistance.

I have learned that perhaps I need to be of more assistance and understanding to some of my students who struggle through new lessons and not just assume that they are "getting it".  Thank you Jeff for your great help.  I'm sure I will continue to call on you the rest of the week.

  1. Steve,

You are so right. I have talked with several other members of the Institute & I think, after this experience, many of us have a better understanding of how our students feel in our classrooms. I'm 42 and have not been truly graded or assessed on my work in a VERY long time. Steve Elliott's critiques of my Doig article along with the pressure of the deadlines and wanting to "get it right" are real eye-openers to the experiences of a typical student.
